In the 2nd century AD, the Romans built a major fort at Cramond. Excavations between 1975 and 1981 clarified aspects of the fort defences and of the neighbouring civil settlement. This look at the site and its many artefacts offers a glimpse of life on a Roman frontier in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.
