The sole object of this work is to instruct the pres ent, as also the rising generation, in plain language - avoiding as far as possible the use of all hard words - how comparatively easy it is to acquire a thorough knowledge of the anatomy of the foot and how to shoe it, to fit the horse to perform with com fort, all the duties his master, man, requires of him. Not to antagonize the trainers and blacksmiths but to give them some points of information that may be, some of them at least, new to them. This book is a pocket manual and can be readily referred to to assist them, possibly, upon some points on which they may be in doubt.
