Sandy Anderson is Arizona to the bone, Catholic to the bone and beyond. She lives in Central Arizona with her wonderful husband and various other creatures. The book's main character is a bit of a mystic, a bit of a pragmatist, a bit of a philosopher, and a tree hugger, though not an "environmentalist." She is somewhat lame, somewhat realistic, somewhat poetic and somewhat primitive. She has been given reason, also, to be perennially hopeful. The author aspires to be like her.
