Publisher's Synopsis
At the Tenth International Economic History Congress in Leuven no fewer than seventeen B-sessions will bring together specialists from around the World to discuss important themes of current research. As for past congresses, the hundreds of papers prepared for these sessions are being published in advance. In doing so the local organizing committe hopes to be a service, First, to congress participants. With the B-theme volumes ready in advance, the presentation of papers can be kept to a minimum, leaving more time for discussion from the Floor. The publication of these papers will also make their rich and varied content available to those who could not attend the congress.
