The Ethical Writings of Cicero is a collection of four works by the Roman philosopher and statesman, Marcus Tullius Cicero. The first work, De Officiis, is a treatise on moral duty and the principles of ethics, written as a guide for his son. The second work, De Senectute, also known as On Old Age, is a dialogue between Cicero and his friend Atticus on the subject of aging and the virtues of old age. The third work, De Amicitia, also known as On Friendship, is a dialogue between Cicero and his friends on the nature of true friendship and its importance in life. The final work, Scipio's Dream, is a fictional dialogue between Cicero and the ghost of the Roman general Scipio Africanus, in which they discuss the nature of the universe and the afterlife.
