Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Essays on Faith
This volume is intended as a continuation, and in a certain sense as a completion, of two others which have preceded it. In one, Christianity was considered as a Gos pel; in another, as an Ideal; and in the present set of Essays it is considered as Thought. It is not, of course, suggested that these are either valid or absolute distinctions; but they form convenient and suitable points of View from which to regard the Christian Religion as it is related to Reason.
