Publisher's Synopsis
Mars acts as a galactic police force and consequently has made many enemies out of other planets, including her sister planet Earth, a world that is now pacified and fights politically to stop Mars from its military endeavors.
Mars has been terraformed allowing Earthlings unsatisfied with their lives on an overpopulated Earth to move to a freer society. After generations of this migration they are no longer Earthlings but Martians, a distinct culture different than the one on Earth. The alien planets Wershland and now Altus are planetary invaders. Mars invaded and conquered, and occupied Wershland for a time in response to Wershland's hostile actions of planetary acquisitions. Now Wershland's sister planet Altus has invaded Mars in retaliation. Dallas Erickson is a proud Martian soldier. He loves his planet and battles to protect it when the Altus Warriors attack Mars without warning. After much carnage and loss of life, Mars finally pushes the invaders away and determines that the strongest defense is a strong offense and plans an invasion of its own on Altus, the home world of its attackers, to wipe them out. Erickson's roommate, an Earthling named Penelope, hates Mars and everything it stands for. She, like other Earthlings, wants desperately to stop Martian aggression in the galaxy and change Martian culture, such as the perceived domination of Martian males over aliens and women and animals, with the help of the Electronic Reporter. Erickson hates Earth and feels this is another attack on his home world and battles Penelope and other Earthlings. Earth is also trying to eliminate Christians on their own planet. Erickson is in a war with Earth and with the Altus Warriors and other hostile worlds, including Trillent, a planet engaged in genocide. Amid this does he find love on Altus?
