The focus of this review is reported practice in British secondary schools from the middle of the 1980s to present time. Work related contexts discussed include: work experience; careers education and guidance; uses of business links and partnerships, including mentoring; action planning, personal development planning; development of work related skills, particularly in Personal and Social Education; and specific teaching about the world of work.
