Publisher's Synopsis
The Combined Code on Corporate Governance (2008) requires that a board of directors maintain a sound system of internal control. This principle includes an, at least, annual review of all material controls and risk management systems. The purpose of this book is to create a detailed and practical guide to the actual mechanics of implementing such a risk management system. The areas of corporate governance in general, and risk management in particular, have received increased attention owing to the current economic upheavals. It is anticipated that non-executive directors should find this guide useful as a framework against which to compare the existing risk management programmes of the organisations on whose boards they sit. Similarly, senior management should find this invaluable as either a blueprint or source of suggestions for maintaining and enhancing their current programmes and controls.
