Publisher's Synopsis
The symposium on Energy Transfer in Planetary Magnetospheres reflected both the central role of energy transfer in magnetospheric dynamics and the variety of magnetospheric phenomena relating directly or indirectly to energy transfer processes. A selection of the papers presented at the symposium are published in this volume under three main headings: Input, Storage and Dissipation; Comparative and Global Aspects, and Processes in Earth's Magnetotail and Plasma Sheet.
