This is the first book ever written in Urdu language on the topic of energy efficient housing. It gives a lot of easy to do solutions for saving energy in houses especially with reference to climatic conditions of South Asian countries like Pakistan and India. Most of the areas of Pakistan and India have extremely hot weather in summer and very dry cold weather in winter. Due to such uncomfortable weather conditions, people have to experience a lot of discomfort forcing them to spend a lot on temperature control measures which enhance their energy bills. On the other hand, forced electricity shortages in Pakistan and India are also causing acute uncomfortable conditions especially in summer. Despite these problems, people in Pakistan and India are generally unaware of passive techniques of protecting their houses from extreme weather conditions. This book outlines a lot of techniques of keeping the houses as cool as possible in summer either without any energy consumption or with the least energy use. Energy saving techniques in other sectors such as lights, cooking etc. are also given in the book with a lot of useful related information. This book also opens further avenues for undertaking research on the topic of energy efficient housing.
