Publisher's Synopsis
God gave Peter and Paul specific segments of society as their respective spheres of influence. Peter was given the Jews (circumcision) and Paul was given the Gentiles (uncircumcision). It was up to Peter to explain the change of divine emphasis from the Jewish kingdom to the Christian church, a body of truth which was given directly to Paul which Peter himself struggled to understand on occasion. Nevertheless, he did a magnificent job! In his first epistle he warns specific assemblies that severe suffering and persecution is headed their way. In his second epistle he emphasizes a full knowledge (epignosis) of doctrine as a defensive and offensive weapon in the daily life of all Christians.
