Publisher's Synopsis

END DATE 2088. The year is 2036 and the Doomsday Clock is at midnight. Time has run out for our species, with 2088 being named as END DATE. Climate Change, COVID-19, Anarchy, Social Revolutions, The 2020 Pandemic and a significant GFC2 recession have impacted every corner of the globe. People are tired, after years of dealing with civil unrest, social warlords and economic struggles. Governments have attempted to regain control through tight austerity measures which have failed and dismantled the American Dream. Professionals have fled to utopian Gaia Communities to seek protection. Utopia though, might not be a safe place, as advertised. Madeline Borgory, the newly elected President of The United Southern States, creates a plan to save herself and other world leaders, leaving the rest of humanity to suffer and die on an imploding planet. Borgory, a psychopath, rules with little kindness. Her plan is firstly to stabilise world economies by implanting an intelligence chip into those willing to replace the missing professionals, and then, build the infrastructure necessary to escape the planet. Borgory imagines a new future for humankind on Mars. Firstly though, she will need to charm Mason Manning, owner of Home Base on Mars and convince him to allow the world leaders to join his small colony and start afresh. Is this the end for humanity? Can humans work together when the stakes are so high? Will 2088 indeed be End Date for our species? What happens when human beings remember who they are? Namely, the number one predator on the planet?
