They are the backbone and the future generation of society and also preserve the societal culture and traditions of the society. For the development of society, all-round development of the children is most essential. Therefore, it is essential to explore the level of emotional maturity and social adjustment of children that are living an institution. According to Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015, Child Care Institution is the last resort of the Best Interest of the Children. Children are living under the care and protection of an institution up to 18 years of age. There is a provision for both boys and girls below 10 years kept in the same institution. There are separate institutions for the age group of 12 to 18 years.
