IN compliance With the desire of Professor bischof I have to point out that in the present volume, which completes the English edition of his Treatise on the Chemistry of Geology, only the first seven chapters and the sections referring to iron-spar and manganese ores (pp. 1 - 120, 493 - 508 and 522 - 532) have been translated from the author's manuscript; the remainder having been edited from the original.
