Publisher's Synopsis
Those who have been working with the generation, control and management of high power electric pulse have relied on the development of shielding and protection techniques against inference pickup. In recent years these techniques have been formalised, improved and considerably extended, mostly due to the proliferation of semiconductor circuitry of high sensitivity and low damage threshold.;There has hitherto been a dearth of formal treatment of inference and this book has been written for design engineers, scientists and equipment users in industrial design, computer controlled systems and communications (military in particular). For them, inference is inevitable but frequently unexpected, and this treatment of the problem as a design concept, by identification and quantification, will lead to improved reliability and greater cost effectiveness. It aims to solve many of the problems crucial to EMP protection in electronic communications, measurement, control and data handling.
