Creemos, erróneamente, que las palabras corresponden a la realidad. Eso haría de la realidad algo predecible, decible, expresable con un lenguaje simple y directo, pero la realidad es otra cosa, que escapa, que no se deja definir. Poetas y cantores siempre han sabido eso de la realidad, que hay una lejanía, una desconección, algo inefable que solo la metáfora, la imagen, la nota discordante pueden evocar en el mejunjoso ajiaco de las sensaciones. Ya desde Estaciones del amor (AuthorHouse, 2012) se entrevía que Carlos Iván Bermúdez entiende que la poesía no es un texto muerto sobre una página que antes fue página en blanco. Que, como escribiera Borges, la poesía es el encuentro del lector con el libro, el descubrimiento del libro, pero que es también esa otra experiencia en que el autor, el poeta, concibe la obra, inventa la obra ¿descubre la obra? Y es que en latín, lengua madre de la nuestra, las palabras inventar y descubrir son sinónimas. Cuando leo este volumen que ahora, atento lector, se abre ante sus ojos, no tengo la sensación de estar leyendo algo nuevo, sino que Llagas del alma es la memoria de algo que he vivido antes, que leí hace mucho, quizá en otra vida. Su ritmo, a veces ágil y coqueto, otras cuidadosamente despacio, teje con un hilo de memoria que dibuja perspectivas nuevas de experiencias eternas. Carlos Iván Bermúdez va desde el lenguaje más íntimo, como un susurro incluso, al lirismo más rimbombante y adornado en la simpleza de quien ha sabido cultivar el verso con la celosa disciplina de un monje penitente. Llagas del alma es un concierto de sentimientos que a veces se elevan como un coro, y otras chocan, se dispersan, y luego se recomponen como notas de jazz, a veces torrencial aguacero, otras melancólica llovizna. Es la (a)puesta en escena del hombre, es la masa deformada de la suma de sus contradicciones vista por un observador de una sensibilidad inusual. A esta fiesta, su fiesta, nos convida.
