Este manuscrito pictogrfico se clasifica dentro de la documentacin colonial elaborada con el fin de argumentar y defender los privilegios indgenas como resultado del apoyo y reconocimiento a la autoridad espaola. Destaca por mostrar el papel de Mara Ylamateuhtli Marcelino de Mendoza, reconocida por Hernn Corts como la reina de Cholula, en la traicin y cada de su cnyuge Quetzalcoatzin ante las fuerzas conquistadoras europeas. El Cdice da cuenta de la conquista de este reino sagrado, su reconstruccin colonial y el ensalzamiento de Ylamateuhtli, de su casa seorial y de su linaje. / This pictographically manuscript is classified beneath the colonial documentation elaborated with the objective of argumentation and defending Indian privileges as result to the support and recognition given to the Spanish authority. The importance of this manuscript is that it shows the roll of Mara Ylamateuhtli Marcelino de Mendoza, recognized by Hernan Cortes as the queen of Cholula, in the betrayal and fallen of her husband Quetzalcoatzin under the European conquering forces. The Codex gives an account of the conquest of this sacred reign, its colonial reconstruction and the coronation of Ylamateuhtli, its palace and linage.
