Edward Hopper built his paintings around light. "I like long shadows and early and late sunlight," he said. "I am very much interested in . . . trying to paint sunlight without eliminating the form under it, if I can." His subject focal point was American life, and he traveled throughout the country for more than forty years, recording everyday views of people and their surroundings. Twelve of Hopper's sunlit paintings, featuring both rural and urban scenes, are presented in this calendar. All of Pomegranate's calendars are printed with soy-based inks on environmentally sourced paper.
