This book is a collection of 13 essays on the causes and implications of financial problems in three different economic organizations ? corporate, semi-cooperative and non-cooperative farming communities and sovereign states. The first part of the book deals with corporate insolvency and bankruptcy, the second part with risk-sharing and risk-spreading behaviour in two polar agricultural systems, and the third part with the causes and implications of sovereign external debt and insolvency with special reference to the cases of the developing countries in Latin America, Asia and the Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa.
