Willa has lost her only son in a tragic accident. Then she and her husband couldn't stay together any longer. Now she is alone and going downhill fast. She takes a trip backpacking in the high country wilderness near Mt. Shasta, California. But this trip is different... very different. Willa hears a loud crashing sound in the night and goes out to investigate, hearing moaning as if someone is hurt. Her wish to help outweighs her fears. What and whom she finds is shocking. A spacecraft of some kind, and a young man about her age who is bleeding profusely. This is a story of a young couple from different worlds who must fight tremendous odds to be together. Especially since the man she is falling in love with is a vampire.
