Publisher's Synopsis

Air stewardess Pat decided to run an orphanage while on a stopover in Dacca. Touching down in Third World countries, yet always staying in 5-star luxury began to make her aware of how little she contributed to the miserable conditions around her. Pat took five months, unpaid leave to set about moving into and running a charity orphanage in Dacca. With astonishing determination, courage and practical skill she started to raise the money and involve the crew - and eventually the might of British Airways itself - to build a new orphanage. It is now a happy, thriving "village" for over 400 children.;This is the story of Pat's personal courage and of the children themselves. Dubbed the "Angel of the Airways", Pat has recently devoted her energies to rescuing homeless families from the cyclone disaster. Pat's work has been the subject of three films in the Desmond Wilcox series "The Visit".
