Publisher's Synopsis
This collection includes many of the original poems that first appeared on The Digital Dispatch weblog. They vary in style from formal (the Petrarchan Sonnet, Haiku) to free verse, and cover topics ranging from love and loss, to the banality of American political life, to the grand quest for spiritual awakening. Many of the poems included in this small volume were written using Burroughs' cut-up technique, one of the author's favorite tools for getting the ego out of the way of the creative process.
These poems were written over the course of several decades, and capture some of the author's journey from a failing marriage to building a life with his true love, from deep cynicism to the first hints of spiritual awakening.
