Publisher's Synopsis
Practice does not make perfect. Practice opens the door for more imperfect returning to ourselves, each other and the More-Than-Human fabric of All- That- Is.
Don't Just Do Something, Be Here is a self paced collection of inquiry, invitations, thoughts and stories from my experience for you to resource as you re-connect with yourself and drop into a courtship relationship with practice. I share my story and what grounds me and what has grown for me through this long initiation of soul and the now evident gold that is beginning to substantially shine from within me through trusting this process. Though I can't tell you what practice is for you, I can share portals inward and things to try to get some feedback for your own investigation and experimentation with practice.
Is this you?:
Your days feel like they belong to someone else. Every task is serving another and it feels like there is no time for you to drop into something just for you.
Your creative practice has gone fallow, and you're longing to spark a love affair with your creative spirit.
You've wanted a daily discipline to change yourself because you've been conditioned to think there's something wrong with you.
Your inner life feels too big and too abstract to approach.
Intentions to practice or repetition for the sake of it doesn't stick.
How this book can support you in creating a daily (or regular) practice:The impact of touching base with yourself every day is profound and accumulative. Giving yourself 10, 30, 90 intentional minutes every day seeds generative self focus, love and care.
Daily practice nurtures curiosity, and creates a foundation for inspiration to be put into motion. With a little bit of structure, you and inspiration become confident dance partners.
Dicipline that originates from desire feels life-giving. Reconnecting with your core desires reconnects you with what you are here to explore, move and be moved by. Change and growth that come from curiosity and play is long lasting and effervescent.
Daily practice allows for us to drop into the inner life in more right size (rather than a deluge after long stretches of 'yeah, yeah, later') and be in an energy of encounter with what's there.
Daily practice that is centered on a quality versus being tethered to a specific action tends to nurture both freedom and trust in ourselves to honor our word by following through.
This pathway is one of alchemy, of low and slow de-conditioning from the worlds wants and stories of you, and a re-turning to your own center, your own desires, your own intuition and inner voices with just enough structure to provide feedback for you to glean and gather and evolve with.
