Remember that old photograph from high school or college where you were fit & trim -- the picture of health. Unfortunately, my photographs do not fill my picture albums. I was the "big boy" in the class most of my life. However, a candid snapshot from a few years back was a true wake-up call for me to quit yo-yo dieting, make a commitment to a healthier way of living & ensure that my photo album was not cut short. Getting the weight off was one challenge; keeping it off has been another. Neither has been easy but more doable than I thought & well worth the outcome. The purpose of this cookbook is to offer suggestions for a healthier lifestyle & ways to make better choices when it comes to food. It isn't about just eating lettuce & a piece of chicken! You will find recipes that are fun to prepare, taste great & offer a variety of foods to keep you from getting bored with that same old fare. By converting ingredients & lowering calories along with proper exercise & portion control, you can still enjoy that fudge brownie & a big fat juicy sandwich. This book doesn't come with a promise of losing a specific amount of weight in a specific amount of time. The results are up to you. Hopefully, eating in this way will become an adventure for your taste buds as it has been for me. Today, I am happier, healthier & half the man I used to be!
