Rich mineral deposits and Paulician activities were the reason for recognition of Divrigi by the Turks who came to Anatolia after its fall in the hands of Mengüjecks. There is not enough data available about Mengüjeck activities in this settlement. As an important source from which we can learn are the mosque and the underground spaces inside the Castle area.
The excavation activities took place in period 2006-2018 after which the restoration of the castle walls begun under the supervision of Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Republic of Türkiye.
