Single mother, Kate McCarthy has lost her job to company downsizing and her home to foreclosure. The only place she and her son can go is to her mother's, though that will be their last resort if she has anything to say about it. After the last box is packed and the keys are left on the kitchen counter, she drives to the local church. She wants to pray, again for God to bring her a job, throw her a bone, a sign, something on what to do but she can't find the words. As she gets up to leave, an unconventional pastor dressed in a Smashing Pumpkins tee shirt asks her how he can be of help. Pastor James Duponte puts the word out about Kate and before her week is up at the extended stay motel, she has a job interview with A list celebrity, Samantha Reign in Los Angeles. Kate is offered the job as social media strategist for Oscar nominee, Samantha Reign but not because of her copywriting talents but for other more personal reasons. Kate and Noah move from Winston- Salem, North Carolina to Los Feliz, California. It is there she embarks on a journey she never in her wildest dreams could have imagined. Sam, not the difficult celebrity purported nudges Kate into her own self-discovery through the telling of other women's stories. It is in that place that Kate realizes everyone has a story including her own mother, that pain with purpose is power and absolutely anything is possible.
