Dice el Dicci°nari° de la gua castellana en su primera edici°n que lengua es: a el conjunto de voces y té ¡inos, voluntariamente elegidos con que cada nacion explica sus conceptos. Pronun ándolos ó articulándolos segun sus dialectos. Es tan to l° que se ha escrito y discrrid° s°bre las lenguas y su f°rmacion y las diver sas versi°nes que se han hee s°bre esta imp°rtante materia que seria precis° much°s v°lúmenes para p°ne de manifiesto t°das las °piniones; mas c°m° este n° sea nuestr° c°metido, qu n° tendríam°s las suficientes fuerzas para llenar por mas v°luntad que al efecu tengamos n°s limitaremos presentar un ligero b°squej° que dé alguna raz° del °bjeto.
