Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Differences in the Nervous Organisation of Man and Woman: Physiological and Pathological

I have not considered the element of Race. Certain nervous differences between the sexes are probably more accentuated in some races than in others. While, for instance, women are, as a class, more emotional than men, it is possible that the men of primitive peoples are more emotional than the women of civilised communities. My remarks, in so far as they apply to people of the present age, must be taken to refer to those with whom I have been brought into personal contact, and these are chie?y the inhabitants of the British Isles.
