Sievers') bemerkt nun hierzu, diese Mischlaut'e bildeten in akustischer Hinsicht einen �bergang zwischen Sonoren und Ger�uschlauten, und man werde sie daher, je nachdem das eine oder das andere Element in ihnen vorwiege und subjektiv als das Wesentlichere empfunden werde, der einen oder der anderen dieser Klassen n�her beiordnen k�nnen. Dies auf das Franz�s. Angewandt, ist zu bemerken, dass bekanntlich die stimmlosen Spiranten dieser Sprache in der Regel energisch artikuliert, also mit scharfem Reibeger�usch auftreten und dass diese Artikulation auch bei hinzutretender Stimme, also bei stimmhaften Spiranten (z, z, i)) moglichst beibehalten wird, so dass man diese Klasse f�glich den Ger�uschlauten beiz�hlen kann. Aber auch ab gesehen hiervon empfiehlt es sich aus Gr�nden �bersichtlicher Systematisierung, es bei obiger Zweiteilung bewenden zu lassen. Denn nehme ich die Dreiteilung an, so bin ich z. B. Gen�tigt, die stimmlosen Reibelaute von den stimmhaften, also 3 von e, f von i), s von etc. Im System zu trennen und an ganz andere Stelle zu setzen. Auch unter gewissen Voraussetzungen als ganz oder teilweise stimmlos (ge?�stert oder spirantisch erscheinende Liquidae (s. Unten bei den l und r-lauten) m�ssten von ihren entsprechenden Stimmlauten gesondert werden. Diese strenge Scheidung nach der akustischen Beschaffenheit der Laute m�sste freilich ein scharf gegliedertes System ergeben, d�rfte jedoch der Ubersichtlichkeit desselben kaum zu gute kommen.
Die Einteilung der Sprachlaute nach ihrem akustischen Werte oder, wenn man will, ihrem Schallcharakter (sonore - Ger�usch laute), wird wie in anderen Sprachen so auch im Franz�s. Durch kreuzt von derjenigen nach den Artikulationsstellen. Je nachdem namlich bei Hervorbringung der Laute die Lippen (lippen und Z�hne) und von den Z�hnen bis nach dem Kehlk0pf, die �brigen Teile des Ansatzrohrs, zun�chst der Mundhohle, t�tig sind, unterscheidet man mit vorl�ufigem Ausschluss von Zwischen stufen im allgemeinen zwischen labialen, palatalen und gutturalen Lauten.
