The second edition of this dictionary of computing has a total wordlist of over 5,500 main headwords with subsidiary words and expressions totaling over 25,000 entries. All the words, terms and expressions are defined in simple terms and examples are given of how each word is used in context. The vocabulary covers a wide range of topics related to the computing field, including programming, PCs, Macintosh computers, minis, mainframes, graphics, DTP, networks, chip-design and operating systems.;The definitions are given in simple English, using only about 500 words in addition to the words already listed in the dictionary. Encyclopaedic comments are given throughout the text to expand on the definitions. There is a supplement section which gives examples of programming languages, together with ASCII and EBCDIC tables.
