This report provides an architectural and clinical evaluation of the new Ambulatory Care and Diagnostic Centre (ACAD) at Central Middlesex Hospital, which was opened in June 1999.;This type of service is likely to be replicated elsewhere in the UK in the future, and this report details the lessons to be leaned from the only example of its kind in the UK. The architectural evaluation traces the history of the project through the Outline Business Case, briefing, design team selection and method of procurement. The clinical evaluation refers to the Audit Commission guidelines on ACADs and discusses the criteria for success.
