As a unit in the National Park System, Devils Tower National Monument (DETO) is responsible for the management and conservation of its natural resources. This mandate is supported by the National Park Service Organic Act of 1916, which directs the Park Service to conserve the scenery and natural and historic objects and the wildlife therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such a manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations.
