"Developing Media in English" aims to make the methods and techniques of effective Media teaching easily accessible. Moving from particular to more general principles, this photocopiable resource shows how "good practice" can be implemented in the classroom and evaluated so as to improve students' learning. The book consists of a series of independent but complementary one-hour workshops to support teachers of English and Media who wish to explore, evaluate and improve their teaching practice. It is specifically designed to help with implementing the demands of the National Curriculum for English by integrating media, language and literature approaches. It can also be used as a resource for PSE training. Units include work on newspapers, televised classics, magazines and comics, simulations and practical work.
