Myths and legends. Those stories can instill fear, courage, and bravery. Those stories can shock, awe, and entertain for hours. But what would one do if those myths and legends were suddenly true? Witches. Dragons. Gods. Goddesses. It's all real. They exist, yet most people on the world of Thessius do not believe in such tales. Their views shift once they are met face to face with witches, dragons, and magic. Ziroth, the 'King of the Marshland', secludes himself from all of humanity. He waits. He lingers in fear that the one who nearly killed him will wake. Wake from the sword that contains his soul and is protected by a magical barrier. That enemy can be the greatest threat to all of Rinelaw territory, and even Thessius. But Ziroth is slowly dying and the last of his kind. His death would mean the extinction of dragons. For centuries, he has suffered from his withering and in doing so, has released a toxin into the air that is fatal to humans. The plague contaminates the air and the water. As if that was not enough, other threats endanger Rinelaw. A king whose rise to power is shrouded with deception plans to keep a potential cure for only the elites. Deep in the Black Marsh, the sword harboring Ziroth's age old enemy stirs once more. A headstrong General of the Rinelaw army becomes a servant to a dark force and does the unthinkable. A rebellion forms in the west with plans to march to Sovereign, the seat of power. All the while, in the heavenly and dark realms, an impending war is brewing. Will the heroes of Rinelaw be able to save their home from so many dangers? Will their hands be stained with the blood of thousands they could not save? Will the dark force that has awakened reign victorious? Their destiny is about to unfold...
