Publisher's Synopsis

A triple pack of contemporary horror films. 'The Descent' (2005) follows a young group of female friends who go on a climbing expedition and find a lot more than they bargained for. Lost in a cave, off the maps, they encounter a race of barely human cannibalistic subterraneans who are very, very hungry. In 'Dog Soldiers' (2002) squaddies Cooper (Kevin McKidd) and Wells (Sean Pertwee) come across the ravaged remains of another military unit whilst out on manoeuvres with their squad in the Scottish Highlands. The only survivor, Ryan, is badly injured and unable to explain clearly what happened; nevertheless the men get a pretty good idea when night falls and they themselves are attacked by unidentifiable wild beasts. Finding refuge with a family in a nearby house, the owner tells them about werewolves who hunt in the area, and the soldiers begin to dig in, preparing for a big fight. Meanwhile, Ryan begins to undergo some unexpected changes... '28 Days Later' (2002) is directed by Danny Boyle ('Trainspotting' and 'The Beach'), and is a future view of what could happen after a viral attack. This time the virus is so deadly that within seconds the infected person is taken over by a murderous rage, which stays with them permanently. After 28 days there are only a handful of non-infected survivors - but the virus is not the only thing they have to contend with.
