La buona volontà della popolazione bretone e gli stratagemmi adottati contro il demone nel corso del tempo risultano insufficienti. Le difficoltà a proteggere l'emblematico portale dall'ira di Satana aumentano sempre più, al pari delle vicende dei protagonisti che, per intravedere la luce nel loro futuro, devono scavare nel lontano passato. Vito Antonio Gastaldi ritorna ai lettori con un romanzo intriso di magia, superstizioni, tradimenti e devozione religiosa. Mutuando parzialmente la tecnica già adottata nella saga familiare Gominhães, impostata come una pièce de théâtre, l'Autore crea un intreccio fantastico, innaturale soltanto in apparenza e oltremodo veritiero.
Come nei migliori noir, l'evoluzione della storia diraderà o confonderà in maggior misura le attese di qualunque lettore. Soltanto l'ultima parola riuscirà a chiudere il sipario di questa nuova opera letteraria di Vito Antonio Gastaldi.
Un autentico thriller mozzafiato d'antan.
