Publisher's Synopsis
Time-based research about the Soviet Aircraft Industry during the period of the Great Patriotic War, which merges historical facts, written communications, the situation at the front, the needs of the Soviet Air Force and the hardships of its industry to support the war.
The work focuses on the Ilyushin IL-2 Shturmovik and its developments throughout the war and relies on other designers to give an overall image.
To complete this 67 books research work, three generations were required. The first generation wrote the story, the second collected and kept such documents, and the third generation searched for, compiled, verified them, and put them into this research work, translating them from Russian and German to Spanish and vice-versa.
To carry out this extensive and precise work, more than 25,000 official documents from the archives of the Russian Federation and Germany have been translated and verified, hoping that the vast amount of data being published in the West for the first time can improve the understanding of the Soviet Aircraft Industry during this period.
The book series is strictly focused on the Soviet aircraft industry during a month period and it was not planned to include orders of battle, because the research focuses on the aviation industry.
