Publisher's Synopsis
Richard Ainsworth is a middle-aged Englishman who runs a B&B in the Val de Follet of the Loire Valley. The highlights of his days are watching old films and feeding his beloved hens: Lana Turner, Joan Crawford, and Ava Gardner. Nothing ever happens to him...and that's the way he likes it. One day, however, one of the older guests disappears, leaving behind a bloody handprint on the wallpaper. Then another guest, the exotic Valerie d'Orcay, persuades a reluctant Richard to join her in investigating the disappearance. Richard remains a dazed passenger in the case - until someone brutally murders Ava Gardner. Now things are REALLY getting serious...
