Publisher's Synopsis

Trilogy of adventure films based on the manga comic by Tsugumi Oba and Takeshi Obata. 'Death Note' (2006) revolves around Light Yagami (Tatsuya Fujiwara), a brilliant but bored high school student whose life changes dramatically when he finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by Shinigami death god Ryuk (voice of Shidô Nakamura). Any human whose name is written in this book will die. Light sees the book as an opportunity to rid the world of evil, but when criminals begin to die in mysterious circumstances, the police call in the help of the famous detective, L (Ken'ichi Matsuyama), to investigate. 'Death Note 2 - The Last Name' (2006) finds Light being pursued by mysterious detective L, who believes him to be the 'Death Note' killer. Matters are complicated further when another notebook appears and falls into the possession of Misa Amane (Erika Toda), a Japanese pop star and Kira worshipper. Now with the ability to identify anyone else who possesses a notebook, Light realises that his reign as the 'Kira' may soon be coming to an end. 'Death Note L - Change the World' (2008) follows the final 23 days in the life of detective 'L' as he seeks to solve one last case. While investigating a group of renegade scientists responsible for the spread of a highly contagious virus that threatens to destroy the human race, L comes to the rescue of two young boys, Maki (Mayuko Fukuda) and Near (Narushi Fukuda), and attempts to protect them from the outbreak.
