Publisher's Synopsis
Sometimes messy. Often Contradictory. Always honest. This collection of existential poems, prose, and short stories takes the reader on a raw and exploratory trip through the mind and soul of the author as she moves through this bewilderment we call Life. "Dear Time-Traveler" is broken into five main sections, each of which is loosely themed on different aspects of the author's reality, including (among other things): reflections on awareness, thoughts about quantum physics and religion, feelings about being a parent, the turbulence of romantic emotion, and on dealing with the loss of her own mother. The book covers a little bit of everything: from life, death, love, nostalgia, society, philosophy, motherhood, relationships, joy, confusion, pain, illumination, depression, personal growth, acceptance, letting go and inner peace, to cancer and chain-smoking ducks - in no particular order. (It's also sprinkled throughout with several of the author's own sketchy doodles, just for fun.) Deeply self-reflective and occasionally juvenile (but never presuming to reach conclusions), the book dives into the good and bad, alike, as the author confronts and dissects the prismatic experiences of her existence. In a sense, it is what it is: just another human perspective tossed into the mix.
