Publisher's Synopsis
Jackie was a five-year-old girl the last time she saw her father in 1981. She knew very little about him, even then. He abandoned his three children at a young age and chose the wrong path that landed him in prison for the rest of his life. Jackie doesn't hear from her father in over six years until she found out he was in prison and goes to visit him for the first time in 1987. Their relationship just begins. While Eddie tries to find his own way through prison life, and a way out of prison, Jackie tries to find out the truth of her father's actions and how their father-daughter relationship will play out. Through the years, she faces many real life experiences that help her realize that finding out the truth may not end her internal suffering and destructive relationship with her father and others. Their relationship comes to a boiling point in 2001. Jackie decides to tell her father the truth of her internal hatred of his actions, including the fact that he has yet to confess to her what he did to end up in prison. Will he accept responsibility for his actions and apologize for twisting the fate of their family ties even after blaming Jackie for their destructive relationship? While time may heal some wounds, and provide forgiveness, there will be scars left to remind her of the everlasting emotional turmoil with her father.
