Publisher's Synopsis

Stan Rogers, a successful software entrepreneur, has a plan to help third world countries speed up their progress into the developing world and to give back some of what he has reaped from the hi-tech boom. He sets off on a journey to visit heads of state and CEO's of large corporations to implement this idea. The vehicle for this trek is his super sportfishing yacht, "Micro Fiche". Along the way he samples world class big game fishing, his other passion in life. Many of these spectacular days of blue-water angling are taken from the real life experiences of the author. Unfortunately, there are those whose special interests are threatened by Roger's scheme for these poor countries. These include a U.S. Senator, former Navy Seal, and a couple of corporation executives. These and other people set out to sabotage the negotiations and Roger's comrades as well. A series of incidents from Cairo, to Baja California, to the Northern California Wine Country brings the reader inside the action as Stan and his fishing buddies attempt to protect, and finally deliver, a library of computer disks back into the United States. The premature revelation of the data and agreements on these disks could very well scuttle the entire project. If you have ever wished for a little more in-depth view into the sport of offshore fishing, the boutique wine business, and a fresh tack on international philanthropy, along with the intrigue swirling around this voyage, pick up this easy reading but thoughtful book.
