Reperitur, quae inscribitur Lucius sive asinus quam quidem alii, ut Photius, Wieland, Teufi'el, Sommerbrodt, cum moribus ac ratione Luciani plane congruere confirmabant, alii, ut Tanaq. Neque tamen quisquam excepto uno Courierio (in editione Paris. 1818. Et in praefatione libri qui inscriptus est: l'ano de Lucius de Patras Paris. Causas, cur ita iudicaverit, aut nobis proponit aut comprobare studet; sed si qui accuratius de hac re disserebant, ut Manso, Teu?'el, Wieland, id tantum operam dabant, ut nobis exponerent, quae necessitudo inter cederet inter Luciani libellum et Lucii Patrensis metamer phoseon libros. Ac profectol priusquam ad eam questionem accedamus, utrum Lucianus sit fabulae illius auctor necne, eo declinare Opus est disputationem nostram, ut explicare conemur, quisnam sit antiquissimus ex tribus illis Luciani, Lu cii, Appuleii libris, quos eiusdem argumenti narrationem continuiaee soimus. Sed hac de re infra nobis dicendum erit, iam commune fabu larum argumentum paucis exponere mihi liceat.
