Day-by-Day English is one of the most well-known English courses in southern Africa. The course is integrated across the Foundation Phase Learning Areas and enables learners to meet the requirements of the Language, Literacy and Communication learning area through the integrated use of listening, speaking, viewing, reading and writing. They use vocabulary from the Learner's Books and provide excellent opportunities for learners to read on their own, in pairs and in groups. Easy-to-use Teacher's Guides provide teaching suggestions for each unit of the Learner's Book and give ideas to make learning fun. Opportunities to expand learners' language awareness and promote multilingualism are also highlighted and assistance with continuous assessment is included throughout.
