Publisher's Synopsis
Back in 2016 I published a complete novel called Race of the Gods which I must confess I was never particularly pleased with the format which I published it as a whole novel rather than a series of novelettes/novellas. I have republished my work as a series of novelettes/novellas, Race of the Gods - Prelude, Race of the Gods and Race of the Gods - Aftermath. All three are now available on Amazon both as a series and as a single standalone novel.
My initial concept was that there was something beyond immortality so after a period of almost 40 years I finally completed my novelette Heartsglade - College of Womanhood by neatly putting together my rather grandiose vision of the universe as a dominion dominated by The Women, an authoritarian all female Gaia, who rule with fairness but with an absolute rule of justice. This absolute rule is what Heartsglade was all about.
Heartsglade was going to be my first science fiction epic novel, but I found it impossible to write so using a concept of a voyage through the centre of the universe which I envisioned in the last few weeks of my schooldays back in 1979 I wrote a prequel which I completed and published after eight years (2008-16), which was the complete Race of the Gods novel.
I must acknowledge Isaac Asimov, one of the greatest writers of this Sci Fi Epic genre, as having inspired me.
Having completed Heartsglade - College of Womanhood, which is the first part of a Quintet of novelettes which I will complete by Spring 2023, the next novelette was Failure of the Gods which I published in May 2022. I then finally completed the third part of the series, Detective Petrel in November 2022. This novelette, David's Magic Garden, is the fourth part of the Quintet series.
David's Magic Garden is nearly all about a God called Cygnus meeting a God called God who is part of three Gods who are also One God, that is God the Father (the God who is going to meet Cygnus), God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit in a replica of The Garden of Eden. The fate of The Future of The Women, the all-encompassing Gaia mentioned above, hangs in the balance on the outcome of this meeting, a meeting they have engineered for over 14 million years using many millions of cyborg universal empires which they have annihilated. Cygnus is a God animated by the soul of Ann Passionbec who was David Passionbec in my novel, Race of the Gods, and therefore the replica of the Garden of Eden is called David's Magic Garden.
The fifth and final novelette in the Quintet series, Mortonsvale - College of Womanhood, is nearing completion and should be published by January 2023.
