Publisher's Synopsis
David, a small Swedish-American boy, lived in Sweden. He had a Swedish grandmother, aFarmor, a who lived in Sweden, and an American grandmother, aMormor, a who lived in the United States. When David was two and a half, Mormor gave him a wooden animal alphabet puzzle just for David and Mormor to play with together. David loved putting the puzzle together, from the Alligator (for aAa) to the Zebra (for aZa), and playing with his alphabet animals. David called the puzzle aHornoa and was sad when Mormor took Horno to the United States and he had to wait for her next visit to play with Horno again. David asked Mormor on every telephone call about what the animals were doing. Then, when David visited the United States, a disaster occurred; the Yak (aYa) got lost! David was very worried. Was the Yak lonely, hungry? His telephone conversations with Mormor were all about the Yak. Mormor had to find the Yak for David!
