Triple bill of programmes looking at the career of English rock singer-songwriter David Bowie. 'Up Close and Personal' discusses Bowie's rise to fame and his ever-changing image, with footage of his final Ziggy Stardust show in 1980 and interviews with ex-wife Angie Bowie, musicians Trevor Bolder and Woody Woodmansey and BBC Sessions producer Jeff Griffin. 'Rock Milestones - Ziggy Stardust' critiques his 1972 album 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars'. The programme includes performance footage and interviews with Bowie, as well as input from Angie, Bolder, Woodmansey and guitarist Mick Ronson. 'The Bowie Chamber Suite' features a number of Bowie's songs, such as 'Space Oddity', 'Life On Mars' and 'Young Americans', arranged for string quartet and grand piano.
