While Hellie and her twin sister, Angel, were growing up, their Grandmother Powers taught them that the forest behind their house in Shawon, Colorado, was enchanted. She said the woods were full of wondrous, unseen creatures whose presence created an atmosphere of beauty and tranquility.
Hellie believed every word. Then, through a chance encounter with a young man named Kaden, Hellie learns that her grandmother was only partially correct. Yes, the forest is enchanted. Yes, there are unseen, magical creatures. Yes, beauty and tranquility abound. But that's not the end of the story. An evil sorcerer is searching for three artifacts that are hidden among the trees. In order to find them, he is willing to destroy the woods and everyone who gets in his way. With Kaden's help, Hellie seeks the means of protecting the people and the land she loves, but they must find a solution quickly before there is nothing left but dark in the forest.
