Publisher's Synopsis
Nichol lived a charmed, innocent life in sixteenth-century Russia until the night he watched his beloved Marina savagely killed before his eyes and was turned into a empty, murderous beast. Consumed by anger and pain, he spent hundreds of years canvassing the world committing vile, bloody crimes. He believed he was cursed, an unredeemable demon. Over the course of time, self-loathing and uncertainty turned into questions. Can a heartless killer develop morals? Can a damaged spirit regain his soul? Is the battle between good and evil strictly black and white? Are the unspeakable acts of politicians and powerful people condoned because they are human, and what draws the line amongst mortals and monsters? Traveling from modern day to the Hundred Years War, the age of pirates and even Whitechapel London, we follow Nichol and his tortured psyche on a path of possible redemption overshadowed by dangerous obsessions of love, life and blood.
